Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei was a weekly dark comedy manga illustrated by Koji Kumeta. The manga debuted on April 27, 2005 under Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine. The manga finished serializing on June 13, 2012. Over the course of 7 years, 302 chapters were released and published, for Japanese readers, in 30 books. For English readers, there were 14 books. In 2007, SZS won in the Shonen category for the 31st Kondansha Manga Award. As of right now, all of the books are only available to buy digitally. The only way to obtain the 30 or 14 volumes are through second-hand shops and resellers. In the books, there are multiple extras in the back, such as foldables, art submissions by fans, Kumetas comments on the topics discussed in the book, Kaeres lawsuits, etc. There is also a art book made by Koji Kumeta called 'Kuigaten'. It contains SZS content and content of his other work 'Katte no Kaizou'. That book is also only available through resellers and second-hand shops.
